Restaurants strive to survive despite the Economy

With the faltering economy we have seen several restaurants shut their doors.  Those that are still around are constantly cooking up new ideas to boost business.

Luca Nasti, owner of Luca’s Ristorante and Pizzeria in Lake Stevens is offering a new perk, “kids eat free"  on Thursdays and Sundays.  Many of us may not be aware that typically only 4% of each dollar brought in goes to a restaurant's profit.   “If traffic is down and if you are not carefully watching food and labor costs, it doesn’t take much for the 4 percent margin to disappear,” Anton said.

"Restaurant owners need to make sure they examine all their costs and labor output as customers scale back, he said. At the same time, restaurant owners need to maintain quality and preserve their reputation. Nothing makes owners better than new competition and tough times", Anton said.

Looking for a new way to save money?

Replacing printer ink in existing carteridges offers a great way to save a little extra money.  Cartridges can be refilled 5-6 times before wearing out.  Mike Scanes is spreading the word about a simple way to find fast, meaningful savings at his business in Everett.   For 5 years Printer Ink Source, has helped people and residents save money by replacing and refilling used printer ink and laser toner cartridges at a fraction of the cost of new products offered by big-name manufacturers .   Customers can refill an ink carteridge that typically costs $35-$40 for approximately $14 or $15.

Printer Ink Source garantee's and and replaces defective products at no charge.  Should a customer choose to replace the cartridge with a new product, the price they paid is applied towards that product.

"The beauty of small community businesses like Printer Ink Source is the supportive role they play in the local community", says Scanes.  “I employ locally and I support the local economy. If you keep the money here, it can eventually make its way back around to you."

Pick a Pumpkin!

Pumpfest_web  Ghost and Goblins!!!  Hard to believe Halloween is just around the corner isn't is?  As the day's get shorter, the leaves turn amber and start to fall and soon we will be setting our clocks back, we can no longer fool ourselves, fall has arrived and winter is quickly approaching.

Have you ever visited a pumpkin farm?  A great fun and safe family activity.  Many local farms are open thru the month of October, with great activities, hay rides, corn mazes, pumpkin carving contests, etc.
